Experienced NYC Pharmacy Leader Richard Schirripa

Retired pharmacist, Richard Schirripa, enjoyed a 50+ year career in the pharmacy industry, beginning with his 14-year tenure at Kings Pharmacy in Brooklyn, New York. Richard Schirripa joined the company as a stock boy and ultimately advanced to the general manager position for three locations. After achieving his pharmacist license, he established the Drug Rich Pharmacy in New York City, which he owned for 24 years.

Richard Schirripa, who owned and operated the pharmacy as its owner, chief executive officer, president, and supervising pharmacist between 1982 and 2006, drove all operations. His achievements included supporting Metropolitan Hospital during the AIDS pandemic. When he later opened Madison Avenue Pharmacy, Inc. in 1989, Richard Schirripa assumed all administrative duties as the President and Chief Executive Officer, until his retirement in 2020. Madison Avenue Pharmacy was well known for its involvement and dedication to providing pharmaceutical services and surgical supplies for the First Responders and their families as well as other victims from the 9/11 tragedy under the World Trade Center Program at the Mount Sinai Hospital, located in the Upper East side of Manhattan. Madison Avenue Pharmacy received the J.D. Power Award during his time as president.

During the same time, Mr. Schirripa also owned Carnegie Hill Health and Beauty Aids for 10 years between 2004 to 2014, which was located directly across from Madison Avenue Pharmacy.

Mr. Schirripa studied pharmacy at the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy which later became the Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy at Long Island University. After retiring, his interests shifted to paleontology, archeology and gardening. His main interest and enjoyment is going on private fossil digs out West.
